NEW Happy Divers at the „Boot“ show in Düsseldorf/ Germany

Happy Divers Marbella & IDC College will have its own stand at the most important dive show in Europe, at the „Boot“ in Düsseldorf/ Germany. The show will be held from the 23rd to the 31st of January 2010. Together with our partner dive centers from Germany we will have our booth at the PADI stand in hall 3, booth F28. NEW Nitrox is the standard gas

More than 5 years ago Nitrox was introduced into the recreational dive industry. Today most of all divers dive with Nitrox. Since 2004 the Nitrox course can be done when taking the Open Water Diver course. It can also be included in the Advanced Open Water Divers course. Most of Happy Divers clients choose one of these options. As before the Nitrox course can still be taken as a separate Specialty course either doing 2 dives in the sea or even without dives.
To increase safety in diving, Happy Divers decided to have Nitrox as the standard gas at all its centers. From now on Nitrox32 will be included in our dive prices instead of compressed air. For the divers that still wish to dive on air, compressed air will be still available. Since almost 100 % of all our tank fills are Nitrox fills, and every time a diver wishes to dive on air, the whole setup of our powerful compressors have to be changed entirely there will be a small fee for using air.

NEW Happy Divers - Watersports-Center

A few month ago the Happy Divers – Watersports Center opened its doors. It is in the same building than the dive center Happy Divers Marbella & IDC College. Both are situated on the beach of the hotel Atalaya Park near San Pedro. Available for watersports are: 3 pedalos, 4 sit-on-top sea kayaks and 4 Stand-Up-Boards. Towed by our powerful watersports boat there is also a Banana and towables for 1,2 or 3 people. Helmets and lifevests are an obligation to wear for all these avtivities.
As most boards Stand-Up-Boards are coming from Hawai. The boarder is standing upright on them using a long padel. Who wants to learn how to ride this type of board can do this in one of our courses starting several times per week. The Happy Divers Watersports-Center will be operational from May until October 2010.
Dive center in Marbella
The 3rd dive center of the Happy Divers group on the Costa del Sol - “Happy Divers – Marbella Port”, located in the leisure port of Marbella (Puerto deportivo) right in the city center of Marbella – is going to be open for its 3rd season. Happy Divers – Marbella Port is a combination of dive center, shop, bar and coffee shop.

From the beginning of November to the end of March the dive center will be open daily from 15:00 to 18:00. During the summer month April through October daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Daily boat dives are leaving at 10 a.m. and at 2 p.m.

Special ! Exiting Wreck Dive on the Costa del Sol
New in the diving program from Happy Divers is the wreck of the Menapier.
On the 11th November 1917 the cargo ship Menapier, loaded with iron ore whilst on passage from Villaricos to Gibraltar, sunk due to a collision with another ship. Today the wreck, lying between Fuengirola and Punta de Calaburra, is still in good condition. It is about 110 m in length and approx. 15 m in width and lies on a slightly sloping sandy bottom at around 40 m. The average diving depth is between 35 and 40 m. Interested in the dive ? Due to its depth it is a rather demanding dive. Minimum certification level is Deep Diving Specialist. Of course it is also the perfect opportunity to do your Deep Diving and/ or Wreck Diving Specialty. For more information see chapter: Dive prices/ gear rental and Specialty courses.


NEW Tec-Rec courses at Happy Divers
If one tank isn`t enough to do the dive due to the depth of the dive site or you reach the limits of recreational diving, than you should consider to start with Technical Diving.
DSAT TecRec courses provide the techniques and procedures necessary for diving beyond recreational dive limits. These are some of the most intensive, yet exhilarating, courses you'll find.
Technical diving isn't for everyone but if this type of diving appeals to you and you're willing to accept the risks, responsibilities and obligations, you'll find it one of the most rewarding dive experiences you'll ever have.
TecRec courses start every week at Happy Divers. TecRec Instructor courses are conducted in April and November.

AWARD Peter Deth has been awarded to be the Entrepreneur of the year

Peter Deth, the founder and general manager of Happy Divers Marbella has been awarded by PADI Europe to be the Entrepreneur of the year for Spain (business man of the year). This Award is given once a year to one of the 230 Spanish PADI dive centers. It was given to Happy Divers in March at the PADI member social in Barcelona/ Spain. With this award Happy Divers and/ or Peter Deth was honored for the special efforts in diver and PADI PRO training.

IDCs & IEs at Happy Divers & IDC College are a great success

As a PADI 5* CDC Center, PADI IE location & the first ever NATIONAL GEOGRPAHIC center in Spain, Happy Divers Marbella & IDC College accomplished since 2002 a total of 14 IDC & IE.

During the 9 days of the Instructor Development Course (IDC) a total of 120 instructor candidates studied the "secrets" of the PADI teaching system in a relaxed and international atmosphere.
In addition almost 400 Specialty Instructors were trained. The participants came from different countries and all IDC were held in the 3 languages German, Spanish and English.

During the last IE a total of 21 candidates presented their knowledge to the 2 PADI examiners. Congratulations to the new PADI instructors.
